Loralie is 16 months old today!

Our little girl is getting SO BIG! Figuratively, not literally. Ha. I weighed her today and she was a whopping 21.9 lbs. She is starting to look a little too tall for her size 12 month pants now- we have a few "high water" situations happening. She is learning new words almost every day- she says 40 words now! Most recently she added "thank you" and "flower". She is starting to put two word phrases together such as "up me" when she wants you to pick her up and "go bye bye" or "where's dada?" She pretty much runs non-stop during all of her waking hours, which is how she stays so skinny. She is starting to exert more control over what she eats. She LOVES cheese, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, and yogurt, so we have the dairy covered. She will still eat peas and carrots and a few other vegetables, but isn't too keen on trying anything new right now. She still doesn't like anything warmed up (she says "hot, hot" even if it is barely luke warm). She LOVES "cackers" and "coookies", which I try to monitor, or else she would eat nothing else. If you are trying to get her to eat something she doesn't want, she will say "no" and turn her head away. But if she spies something that you are eating that looks good she will say "bite? bite?" She has a million jillion toys, but what she likes the best is our dog, "Cootie" and specifically poking him in the eye while saying "eye". Poor dog. And she also loves books, particullarly ones with photographs of real objects in it, so she can practice naming things. We have begun going to library story time, which she really likes, especially the part where they blow bubbles and when they sing "Open Shut Them". Daddy still comes up with wierd wild games to play with her, and he gets her giggling very hard. She is still taking two naps a day and sleeping through the night. She has started calling my mom "Nee Nee" and my Dad "pa pa".

Her BFF's right now are Sofie, Sofia, and Sloane. And we added a new friend this month, Jack, who she kinda ignored through most of their playdate, but maybe they were just being shy.
