Tablerock Lake

Image
The Lenz clan had our second annual lake weekend at Tablerock Lake! The weekend was filled with lots of family meals, silly games, and fun adventures! No family trip would be complete without a little mayhem, though.  Caleb decided to take the Kayak with us, which would have been fine except it kept trying to fly off while we were driving down the highway!!!  Okay, it didn't "almost fly off", but it shifted hugely enough to freak us out, and then we had to pull over a bunch of times to fix it, making the ride there a super-pleasant seven hours.   But back to the fun...  Friday night dinner with the Fam!  Cooking up some lasagna.  Yum.  Saturday afternoon at the Roaring River State Park.  Loralie feed the fish at the hatchery.  Romey and Grandma time.  Loralie and Grandpa time! The park was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the time with family was PRICELESS.

Bride to Be

Image
A few nights ago Loralie slept with a wedding veil on and told me that she was going to marry Mobly from the jungle book and she was going to have a sparkly diamond ring and wear a beautiful white dress and carry red flowers. Apparently girls do start planning their weddings at an early age!

Punkin' Patch Kids

Image
This afternoon was darn near perfect.  I mean, it was a crispy fall day, sunshine, not a cloud in the sky. The kids had just woken up from their afternoon naps and I rather abruptly decided that we were going to go to the pumpkin patch. Boom.  Just like that.  I texted some friends and headed out with the kiddos and WOW, it was fricking fantastic.  We met up with neighbors KayleeandElliot , as well as church buddies Luke and Zack, and the kids just ran around having a blast until 7pm.  We ate pumpkin donuts and cider slushies for dinner.  Why?  Because we could.  Because it is fall.  Fall just makes me really happy :)  Boo. Roman, being his usual happy self :) WHEEEEE! WHEEEEEE!!!!!! The Pumpkin Fairy and her Little Punkin' The Gang:  Elliott, Kaylee, Loralie and Roman Baby Calf Quit taking my picture! Look at that big girl!  We will have to take Roman's for this y...

Donuts with Dad

Image
Loralie's preschool had "Donuts with Dad" on Thursday. Here they are eating some delicious donuts! I'm not sure I have ever seen Caleb eat a donut in uniform... He says he doesn't like to perpetuate the stereotype! Ha! And isn't it great that he took a picture for the blog without me even reminding him? That's called years of living with a blog-aholic. I've got him well trained!

Baby Storytime

Image
"There's a lot of babies in here, Mom..." Roman went to his very first baby storytime today at the library!  He was surprisingly content during the hour long class.  He loved the bubbles, the music and the scarf play.  It was fun to be able to do something fun with just the two of us (Loralie was at preschool).  Where's Roman?  Peek a Boo!

Little Puddin' Pops

Image
Yesterday I got the awesome idea (ok, I stole the awesome idea) to let the kids fingerpaint with pudding! Loralie and Ada were both a mess, but they had a good time. Roman was neat and tidy! He really only used a few fingers to paint, and didn't really try eating it, even after I gave him a taste! Loralie keeps talking about how she loves eating paint, so I hope her preschool teacher doesn't report us!

Wedding Daze

Image
Loralie is a little obsessed with weddings and brides lately, so she was VERY enthusiastic about an invitation to my cousins wedding last weekend.  She didn't even seem to mind the super long car ride to get there (it was in Iowa).  She sat very quietly during the ceremony (thanks to snacks and coloring books) L with NeeNee watching the beautiful bride... and ran around like a crazy person during the reception (yes, we are THOSE parents.)  Roman screamed his head off during the ceremony and had to be removed.  Then he screamed his head off at the reception until we shoved his carseat under the table and he fell asleep.  Again, no one is nominating us for any parenting awards.  Loralie asked me and Caleb if she could go "watch the princesses dance" during the bridal party's special dance, and wanted to get her picture taken with the bride. Loralie and Holly I took the opportunity to get a family pic, since we were all spiffed up and in...

Roman is 8 Months!

Image
Roman Dean is eight months old already! Your biggest accomplishment this month: the babble. You can officially say "Mamamamama!" "Dadadadada" and "lalalalala". You love to talk and tell us stories. In fact, I swear you were trying to tattle on your sister the other day after she "accidentally" threw a book at you... You are sitting up great now, and can sometimes sit up from a (halfway) laying position. You love watching Blues Clues, unfortunately, no one else does and you aren't tall enough to get the remote. Sometimes your sister is nice an chooses that for her TV time because she knows you like it. You are putting everything in your mouth these days (food and non-food). You can pick up tiny cereal and yogurt dots but can't quite get them into your mouth yet. You can hold your own bottle if it's not too full! You are still having some reflux issues so you still take your medicine twice a day, and usually throw up o...

Driving Two Hours to See The Bridges

Image
Curtis, Candy, and Adler Bridges that is! Our favorite Floridians were in Bolivar to visit family so we drove down to see them and meet their new baby, Adler! Roman and Adler had a great time drooling and staring at each other while us grown ups got to catch up!
