E-I-N-G-O was her Name-O

Every time Loralie gets into the car she puts in a not too sutle request to listen to "E-I-N-G-O Please Mom!" She is refering, of course to the Bingo song on her children's CD that we have listened to so many times it makes me want to scream. So depending on my mood, I may cave, or like today, I might tell her that it is mommies turn to pick the music first. So we were driving along, me surfing through the stations like I like to do, but since I couldn't find anything that I really wanted to listen to, I just shut the radio off. Loralie said, "You don't like that song Mommy?" I said, "No, I guess I don't." She said, (with an innocent blink blink and a big smile) "Maybe you like E-I-N-G-O..."

Just What the Doctor Ordered

After a very stressful wedding last weekend ( I ended up being the bartender...) Caleb and I were ready for some fun and relaxation! So we took Loralie to the closest thing Missouri has to the beach... The Great Wolfe Lodge! We packed up and drove to Kansas, and we arrived in time for lunch at the Legends. We decided to go with Dave and Busters and since it was a Wednesday afternoon, we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. We played tons of games, and laughed a lot (you should see Caleb play "Dance, Dance Revolution") and overall had a GREAT time. Caleb discovered a hidden talent- playing the claw game. He managed to snag two little stuffed animals on his first try, and then two more on his second try! WHAT? I had to give it a shot myself, and I actually got one too! Must have been an easy machine! Or else we have surgeon like precision! Loralie really liked playing any games where she could "drive". Then we headed off to check into our room at ...

On My Mind...

I have so much stuff swimming around in my head lately. Mostly, I have been thinking a lot about my Dad. I remember hearing people say that they thought about a loved one who had passed away "every single day" and thinking that they were probably exaggerating. But it is true. Not one single day has gone by without me thinking about my Dad, and missing him. I sort of feel like there are some people who don't really understand this, and feel like I should be "over it" by now. They don't realize that even though it has been five months since my Dad left, it feels like it just happened. I can't believe we have already celebrated Loralie's B. day, Mom's birthday, Halloween , thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Matt's birthday without him. All of those gathering have seemed kind of hallow, and his presence was definitely missed. I have been thinking a lot about how my Dad was my age when he lost his own parents. I wonder if I saw...

Catching Up...

Oh my gracious, I have gotten behind! I have been uber busy with getting ready for a huge bridal show which was yesterday! I actually wasn't planning on attending the show, but then I won a free booth, so I had to scramble to put something together! So here is what we have been up to... Miss Loralie has been sick on and off since January. Just when we think she has kicked it, she gets some new symptom. And that, combined with the weather, gives us all a huge case of cabin fever. I came downstairs after breakfast one morning and found Loralie and Caleb building snowmen on the kitchen table! I love the mittens+PJ's look we have going here... We did manage to make it to Library storytime a few weeks in January. Check out Loralie's snowman craft she made! I have rebelled against the way to strict diet that Caleb signed me up for in January, and have started a new diet that lets me cook deliciousness like this: And this! I am liking this much better... Caleb and Lorali...

Cooped Up

So you can tell we are bored around here, cause Loralie has taken to wearing my undergarments. She said "I need to wear this just like you mommy!" Now that's entertaining! So then I decided I needed to figure out something a little bit more fun to do, so I made Loralie a big batch of dishsoap bubbles. She loved pretending to make "mashed potatoes". Daddy even got in on the fun!

Snowmagedden

Image
So, the kids on facebook are calling this storm " Snowmagedden "! Apparently, Missouri is in a state of emergency! I was expecting an actual blizzard though, like when Laura Ingals had to tie the rope from building to building so they wouldn't get lost going to the outhouse! We weathered the storm warm and cozy in our house! Loralie passed the time playing "tea party" with her dolls and bears in the basement... And we both spent the day in our fuzzy slippers! That's how we roll! We didn't even attempt to leave the house until this evening, and by then the roads were pretty clear (except for the ten foot drifts on either bank), and I just heard mister weather man predicting MORE SNOW. Ewww .
