North Pole Breakfast (for dinner)

Image
It's that magical time of year again, when Teddy the Elf brings fun and excitement to the Lenz kids!  Teddy arrived in his typical style, bringing us a tasty North Pole Breakfast.   He also brought the kids their ornaments. Roman got a dump truck which he promptly broke.  Every. Dang. Year. These tree vision glasses were a big hit! Loralie's ornament was a candy house. Getting ready for lots of silly antics with Teddy!

Thanksgiving 2015

Image
Well, by Black Friday 2015 we were on Thanksgiving dinner number three!  So much to be thankful for!  I only remembered to take my camera to the Bolivar festivities, though, so here they are.  Thanksgiving dinner was at Great Grandma's house this year and we managed to fit A LOT of people in there!  There were lots of Grandpa snuggles...  And Great Grandma snuggles...  Lots of shooting the spit with the fellas... (edited for the kiddos...LOL)... The kiddie table was full of vim and vigor.  Cousin Jeremey and Clarissa are getting ready to welcome their first baby very soon. Nobody likes when I take their picture.  I don't get it.  Precious memories people. Loralie gave all the food two thumbs up.  I think she ate like twelve deviled eggs.  Little Savannah was Loralie's playmate this year.  She loved "babysitting" her.  Table number one.  Tables two and three...  Uncle...

These Two Really Do Love Each Other...

Image
The best thing about having two kids is seeing how much they love each other!  Sure, they fight, wrestle, and tattle on each other a fair bit too, but all that seems worth it when things like this happen.  Loralie lost another tooth on Wednesday night, and even though she knows the truth about the tooth fairy she still put it under her pillow for payday.  But on Friday morning Roman woke up and yelled "The tooth fairy came to see me too!"  Loralie had put some pennies under his pillow and a note from the tooth fairy, which reads: "You are a very cute.  You didn't lose a tooth but you are so cute I had to give you a prize." We asked Roman what he wanted to ask Santa for at dinner the other night.  He said, "Just cars and trucks and a pretty flower to give my Mom."  Oh man, this kid.  When he is good he is very very good, but when he is bad.... I got tears in my eyes after the flower comment.  Read actual tears.  Caleb started si...

Royals Take the Crown 2015

Image
You can't live in Kansas City right now and not catch Royals Fever.  I've tried to avoid it.  I grimaced at the mention of "Moose-Hos-Salvy".  But when they actually WIN the world series and schools are cancelled, you just gotta celebrate.  The kids and I ate blue oatmeal for breakfast, had peanuts and popcorn while we watched the parade on TV, and took our picture by one of KC's many blue fountains.  Let's Go Royals!  (Clap, clap, clap-clap-clap) Roman kept saying, "My shirt has an R for Roman and for Go Royals!" I *heart* Kansas City, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

The Mother-load of Halloween Activities

Image
There were so many fun and exciting Halloween activities this week I don't have the energy to put the pictures in chronological order.  I'm sorry.  I'm exhausted.  Above and below are Loralie's class party, for which I was the head room mom.  We made spider webs and played pumpkin bowling.  Caleb and the kids carved pumpkins on Halloween day.  Roman got to take home Freddie the Frog for the weekend, so we were pretty excited about that. Ellie and Loralie ready for some trick or treating!  These two didn't mess around.  They were speedy and efficient. Loralie was a peacock.  Mostly because she wanted to be a butterfly again and I refuse to dress her as the same thing two years in a row. I went to Roman's class party on Thursday.  They got to practice walking on spider webs and tossing the glow-ring at the pumpkin. We went to TWO trunk or treats last Sunday.  Ada and Jude (not pictured) met ...
