Thanksgiving 2014

Image
Thanksgiving number one at Matt and Beccas house- and look, all the grandkids are smiling! Thanksgiving number two in Bolivar.  Not one, Not two, Not three, but five whole tables of people we love. Including one super cute boys only table! "PIE!" These two crazy kids got engaged!  That's Jon's super happy face! Turkey day selfie! Puzzles with Great Grandma! Lots of outside time... And Loralie learned how to ride a bike with no training wheels!  I mean, after this picture was taken... Whew!  Lots of fun and excitement crammed into three days!

North Pole Breakfast

Image
It's the day after Thanksgiving and even though we haven't actually celebrated Turkey day yet the Elf decided it was time for North Pole Breakfast! The kids got bobble headbands and ornaments... And the most exciting part- the return of Teddy the Elf! Santa pancakes anyone?  A delicious start to the holidays!

Pre- Turkey Feasts

Image
Both kiddos had Thanksgiving feasts at their schools this week... And feast they did!  Geez, look at those plates.  Cheese sticks and cookies, just like the very first Thabksgiving... Today we had no school, so we went to Fun Run to work out some energy.  And to burn off some calories (see above)! Looking forward to a quiet day at home tomorrow and then two days of thanks with our families!

Roman's Ears

Image
So after Romans tubes fell out of his ears in August he has had six ear infections in a row.  That means another round of surgery and this time the decided to take out his tonsils and Adnoids as well.  He did a great job but he woke up pretty grumpy feom the anesthesia. But by the time he got home he was back to his usual self.  He took a good nap and was very happy to see Kaylee and Loralie this afternoon. Hopefully we will be all healed up for the holidays!

Roman's Reads

Image
These are the three books that Roman wants read to him four times a day:  The Napping House, The Going to Bed Book, and Cookies Week. He has heard them so much he can actually read them to me now! Who could resist if this little face asked for "just one more time!"?

And the Award Goes To...

Image
My brave and handsome husband!  He was awarded a Medal of Valor yesterday and we got to go to a fancy luncheon to see him accept it. Caleb acted valorous and all, but I feel that I deserve an equally prestigious award for surviving the last several weeks with the children! Roman's recovery was rough.  He was quite unpleasant for about a week.  Plus he was waking in the night, which just makes the next day that much harder.  Add to that the fact that Loralie had Strep at the same time and you get one worn out mommy! (Feeding each other ice cream). Thankfully, we seem to be on the mend and things are getting back to normal!  Now it's time for the holiday craziness to begin!

A Spooky-Good Halloween!

Image
The Lenz Family Halloween Driveway Bash was in full swing this year.  Loralie was a monarch butterfly, Roman was Lightening McQueen.  NeeNee came by and joined in the fun. This little boy needed extra snuggles due to a bad double ear infection.  Looks like it's gonna be another round of tubes for Romey.  He didn't make it too far Trick Or Treating before calling it a night. Look at all the cuties!  Loralie, Kaylee, Sloane, Arden, and Ellie.  It was cold, but these girls were troopers! My favorite neighborhood gals came to help me pass out candy and before we knew it we had a driveway full of friends! Caleb and I went to our "grown up" party last night as WyldStyle and Emmet from the Lego Movie.  If you have smallish children you know who that is.  All in all a great end to a busy October!
