Spelling Tuesday

Loralie celebrated her 8th birthday with a Harry Potter party.  Of course, Mom was all over this, as the Harry Potter books are my very favorite and I love a good theme! We transformed the basement into Hogwarts... Guests had to pass through platform nine and three quarters.  We had a potions lesson,  and of course, a feast. We went on a magical creatures hunt,  did some dueling (with silly string), And played some serious Quiditch! A great time was had by all!  Parties are so much easier when the kids are older!

Loralie turned eight years old this week and I can hardly believe it!  She had to go to school on her real birthday, but we had a nice family dinner (with NeeNee too!) and she got to open a few presents.

Roman's class visited the fire station last week.  They are learning all about the letter F!

Caleb ran a full marathon yesterday. That is 26.2 miles people!  There is no way I could do that.  My hands got tired from clapping from the sidelines. The kids had fun watching Daddy, NeeNee and lots of people we knew from church run by! Loralie's "don't poop" sign was especially popular. My mom completed a half marathon (that's 13.1 miles!). It's so cool to think about that when she was a little girl, women weren't even allowed to participate in these events, and here she is, killing it!  With her Granddaughters watching!
