Won't You Miss Teaching?

HELLS TO THE NO!!!! Haha. Summer school is over, and I am doing the happy dance! Teaching has taught me a lot. Hopefully it will make me a better parent, more patient, with eyes in the back of my head. Hopefully it will make me more sympathic to my own children's teachers, and cut them some slack every now and then. But mostly it has taught me that this job SUCKS. You have to be completely mental to want to teach Kindergarten for the rest of your life! So now I can kick back, relax, and grow a human in peace. Poor kid is probably scared to come out ("My mom sounds grouchy, and I have WAY too many brothers and sisters!!!) And when people ask me what I do for a living, I can say "I own my own business, and work as an event planner", to which NO ONE will reply "oh, that sounds so fun! You must just play play dough and finger paint all day long!"

It's amazing how your life can change in a single minute. One minute you are laughing and having fun, and the next minute your legs have given out from under you and you are sobbing uncontrollably in the middle of the Tropicana casino while everyone looks at you like you are insane. Simmin' in the Simmin' Pool!

So, our outdoor baby has a new love of her life- "Simmin' in the simmin' pool!" I think she would be out there all day if I let her! In fact, I have to watch her really carefully when we are just playing in the backyard, cause she has been known to crawl in by herself fully dressed! She likes to splash and kick, and play with her watering can and rubber duckies. Mama is going to have a good tan by the end of this summer!

The Cousins Visit!

Loralie has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of her COUSINS! Starting last week she has been constantly asking when "Michael and Daniel gonna come see me???" and on Monday night THEY ARRIVED! Tuesday morning Caleb took his brother Levi with him to work and Robyn and I took the kiddos to the Under the Sea playland at Crown Center. They ran around like crazy for a few hours, enjoying the seaweed forrest, the mermaid house, and the pirate ship! Then we went to the crayola store and did a little doodling. Lunch was delivered via choo-choo at Fritz's (man, that place is LOUD.) Then we went home and took much needed naps! The evening brought more fun and energy exertion at the Moonbounce place at the Zona Rosa. Loralie was excited that she could do the big ladders and slides all by herself.
