I kept waiting for a day that was less than 100 degrees so that I could take Loralie to the zoo with our new super-duper family zoo passes, but seeing as that day may never come, I broke down today and took her despite the heat advisory. It really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. We got there early, before the asphalt started melting, and there was actually a nice breeze and lots of shade. We rode more than we walked, and tried to alternate an indoor activity with an outdoor activity. We got to try out the new "Skylift", which is like a ski lift that takes you over a lot of the Africa exhibit, and Loralie really liked that. She wasn't scared at all! She didn't like the snake house, though, and asked to leave immediately, even though it was so cool in there I could have stayed all day!
