Easter Eve

Today is Easter Eve and we have been celebrating all day long! Well, after we went grocery shopping, ate lunch, and took naps, anyways. But after that we were ready to roll! We dyed our Easter eggs and Roman sampled a hard boiled egg. He was not impressed. During dinner we had Loralie "read" Roman her Story of Easter book, and she did a great job of retellling all the important details. We also took communion as a family at dinner, which I think was really neat. Caleb was reminding Loralie that when we drank the wine (grape juice!) we were supposed to remember Jesus' blood, and when we ate the bread we were supposed to remember His body. Loralie said "and what should I remember when I eat my chicken?" Haha! We finished our Easter Eve festivities by making resurrection rolls to eat for breakfast tomorrow!

Loralie has had a love for all things Elmo from the time she was three months old. I am not exaggerating. When she was just a wee little thing I turned on Sesame Street just to see if she would watch it (she pretty much ignored all other TV at the time). Conversations with My Father

I got my Dad this really cool book for Christmas. It is called "Conversations with My Father" and it is a book of questions that you sit down and ask your Dad all about his life. I am excited to start working on it with my Dad, but I thought it would also be fun to record my own answers to some of the questions. My book would be called "Conversations with Loralie's Mom." He he. Anyways, the first page is all about your childhood, so here goes. I was born on May 20th, 1980 in Portland OR. I was definatley delivered in a hospital, no hippy dippy home births here. The only thing unusual about my birth, as far as I know, is that I was delivered precisely on my due date. I like to be on time. I think it is a courtesy to others. My parents named me Niki Rochelle Brummett. My mom picked out the first name, after a friend she had had. My Mom and the Mailman

This story falls under the category of "kids say the darnedest things". When I was about two years old, my parents sat me down to tell me the exciting news that I was going to have a baby brother or sister. My response was "The mailman will be sooo happy!!!" To which my Dad replied "Say what?!?!" He always says it's a good thing I was born with the Brummett gap between my teeth, or Mom would have had a little explaining to do! They still to this day do not know why I felt our mailman would be the most excited about the new addition to our family!
