Fun Birthday WEEK!

May 20th is my 31st birthday, and my friends and family have blessed me with a birthday WEEK of fun! It started on Friday night when Caleb scored us tickets to see Brian Reagan, who is our most favorite comedian! We had dinner on the plaza and laughed our butts off to his hilariousness. Then Saturday, my sister in law Michelle arrived to kick off "Girl's Weekend!" Saturday night, after I got home from working a wedding we vegged out with movies at home. Sunday we went to church, and then me and Chelle went to the Toys and Miniatures Museum. We strolled around for hours checking out some really cool dollhouses, and we took a walk down memory lane looking at the Barbie exhibit. Monday we took Loralie to the zoo for the first time of the season! And then Michelle and I got to go to a chick flick while Loralie played at a friend's house. Today Me, Michelle, Caleb and Loralie went to the Arabia Steamboat Museum. It was very interesting and fun for the adults, but Loralie wasn't too impressed! This Friday night my friends are coming over for a little party for me. I am so blessed to have so many great people in my life!


Here's a terrible picture of me and Caleb at the comedy show! Didn't get any pictures of me and Chelle and all our fun! I don't think I had time to think of it!

    Matt & I love Brian Reagan too! He is so funny....some of my best date nights involved were watching him. :)

Loralie has had a love for all things Elmo from the time she was three months old. I am not exaggerating. When she was just a wee little thing I turned on Sesame Street just to see if she would watch it (she pretty much ignored all other TV at the time). Conversations with My Father

I got my Dad this really cool book for Christmas. It is called "Conversations with My Father" and it is a book of questions that you sit down and ask your Dad all about his life. I am excited to start working on it with my Dad, but I thought it would also be fun to record my own answers to some of the questions. My book would be called "Conversations with Loralie's Mom." He he. Anyways, the first page is all about your childhood, so here goes. I was born on May 20th, 1980 in Portland OR. I was definatley delivered in a hospital, no hippy dippy home births here. The only thing unusual about my birth, as far as I know, is that I was delivered precisely on my due date. I like to be on time. I think it is a courtesy to others. My parents named me Niki Rochelle Brummett. My mom picked out the first name, after a friend she had had. My Mom and the Mailman

This story falls under the category of "kids say the darnedest things". When I was about two years old, my parents sat me down to tell me the exciting news that I was going to have a baby brother or sister. My response was "The mailman will be sooo happy!!!" To which my Dad replied "Say what?!?!" He always says it's a good thing I was born with the Brummett gap between my teeth, or Mom would have had a little explaining to do! They still to this day do not know why I felt our mailman would be the most excited about the new addition to our family!
