Roman's Zoo Day

Image
We took Roman to the zoo on this sunny April Tuesday.  He was much more excited about the animals this year than last year. Train selfie! It was fun to spend some two on one time with our little guy!

Jefferson City Weekend

Image
My friend Michelle has invited me to come visit her in Jefferson City for quite some time now, and this weekend it finally happened!  Caleb took the kids to Bolivar and I got to go have some girl time! Here I am at Missouri's state Capitol building.  I had never actually been there before! We got ice cream at the famous Central Dairy. And beers at the Prison Bar (located within walking distance of the actual prison!) We got some terrible pedicures, and then some good pedicures.  Long story. Not pictured:  Sushi, wine, crafts, movies, and breakfast! So much fun!

Legoland Field Trip

Image
I got to go on a field trip today with my big almost-first-grader. We played all day at Legoland with her little school friends. Love spending time with my girl!

Our KCPD Family

Caleb was presented with ANOTHER accommodation last night.  I told him we are gonna need to build some more walls if we are gonna keep hanging these things.   We are all so proud of our handsome, brave Daddy. Then today was "Take your Child to Work Day," so Loralie got to go see what Daddy does at work.  The police department put on a whole thing for the kids where they could test out their motorcycle riding skills,  pet some horses,  and hang out in the SWAT vans.  Loralie tried on all of Caleb's old riot gear  and made friends with a bomb robot. I am so grateful for all the friends we've made through the police department.  The Lenz family's blood runs BLUE!

Six...AND A HALF

Image
Loralie celebrated her half birthday yesterday with half of a Smallcakes treat!  Here's what my grown up girl had to say. What do you want to be when you grow up?   I wanna be a cook, an artist or a scientist. Who is your best friend? Little Baby, God, Roman, Mom, Dad, Everybody What is your favorite thing to do? Probably snuggle with Little Baby and Mom and Dad What is your favorite part of school? I-pads and the art area What is your favorite thing to eat? "Pasketti", mac n' cheese, tomato soup and grilled cheese except sometimes I don't like it because it gets too much cheese on it. What is your favorite show on TV? Inspector Gadget, Master Chef Junior, NOT My Little Ponies... Can't believe we are halfway through year six!  Slow down time!

Kindergarten Music Program

Image
Our sweet girl's kindergarten class performed their music program tonight.  Her class wore t-shirts that her teacher had tie-dyed blue. She was so excited to sing us all the songs her class had been practicing.  She sang and did all the choreography and even smiled!  Much better than her preschool performances! We heard classic hits such as "Alice the Camel" and "Hakuna Matata," all with an animal theme. When the kids got up on the risers, Roman yelled "There's Loralie!  There's my Loralie!"  After the show we went to Pizza Hut for a celebration dinner.  It was all very fun until about ten minutes ago when both children hit their tiredness limit and lost their dang minds.  GO TO SLEEP.

Lenz Family Fun Day

Image
The Lenz family went to CoCo Keys for some indoor swimming and fun! We had a great time hanging out together and pretending it was summer.  Then we took the kids to Red Robin for some burgers and fries.  They were worn out, so I call that a sucess!

Easter Weekend 2015

Image
Happy Easter from the Lenz Family!  We had a blessed weekend with family and friends.   Our annual Easter egg hunt is growing in size and fun.  We had a backyard bursting with some of our closest friends.  N  Not only did Roman kill it on the egg hunt, he managed to eat candy out of everyone else's baskets when I wasn't looking. There was lovely weather, delicious food, and hearts full of friendship. This morning the kids were delighted and apparently amazed (see Roman below) with their Easter baskets.  One of the only perks of Loralie knowing the truth about the Easter bunny is that after she got her basket she gave me a big hug and whispered in my ear "thank you, Easter Bunny."  I love my sweet kiddos.
