Party Under Construction

This little guy is the big T-W-O!  We celebrated this "Big Truck" obsessed kid's special day with a construction themed birthday party!
 Can I just say that this was THE EASIEST birthday cake I have ever made?!?  And delicious if I do say so myself!

The kids played with the road map rug (Romans bday gift from Caleb and I) and made foam sticker crafts.
Then it was time for Pizza!  I think this kid ate an entire one all by himself!
We sang happy birthday and blew out the candles (with a little help from some enthusiastic guests!)


And then it was time to attack that mountain of presents!  Good gracious, where am I going to put all these toys???
Poor kid was worn out after all the excitement!  He got some special snuggles from NeeNee.
Some very special friends helped us celebrate Roman's day, and we are grateful for all of them!














Another birthday party for the books!  Let the not-so-terrible-I-hope Two's begin!

Loralie has had a love for all things Elmo from the time she was three months old. I am not exaggerating. When she was just a wee little thing I turned on Sesame Street just to see if she would watch it (she pretty much ignored all other TV at the time). Conversations with My Father

I got my Dad this really cool book for Christmas. It is called "Conversations with My Father" and it is a book of questions that you sit down and ask your Dad all about his life. I am excited to start working on it with my Dad, but I thought it would also be fun to record my own answers to some of the questions. My book would be called "Conversations with Loralie's Mom." He he. Anyways, the first page is all about your childhood, so here goes. I was born on May 20th, 1980 in Portland OR. I was definatley delivered in a hospital, no hippy dippy home births here. The only thing unusual about my birth, as far as I know, is that I was delivered precisely on my due date. I like to be on time. I think it is a courtesy to others. My parents named me Niki Rochelle Brummett. My mom picked out the first name, after a friend she had had. My Mom and the Mailman

This story falls under the category of "kids say the darnedest things". When I was about two years old, my parents sat me down to tell me the exciting news that I was going to have a baby brother or sister. My response was "The mailman will be sooo happy!!!" To which my Dad replied "Say what?!?!" He always says it's a good thing I was born with the Brummett gap between my teeth, or Mom would have had a little explaining to do! They still to this day do not know why I felt our mailman would be the most excited about the new addition to our family!
