Tic Tock

Image
Next week I have to (gasp) enroll Loralie in Kindergarten.  I am having one of those mom-moments (or maybe its a mom-month???) where everything seems to be speeding up.  I have this teeny tiny amount of time when my kids are little and it seems to be slipping away.  I can't believe my baby girl is going to that huge school with creepy big kids and teachers I don't even know!  Ahhhhhhh!!!!  Just. Stop. Growing.

Uncle Jon's Visit

Image
Uncle Jon came to visit us (and do some more testing for the KC Police Department Academy) so we took the kids to Science City!  So much to do and see!  Roman loved the train exhibit, Loralie liked "all of it!"

Take My Picture

Image
Loralie picked out her own outfit for preschool on Wednesday, choose her own hairstyle and picked out coordinating hair bows.  She looked in the mirror and declared "I look cute!  You should take my picture!"  I think this is the five year old version of a "selfie"!  We are gonna be in trouble when she gets a cell phone!

Roman's Tremendous Twos

Image
Well, I am a few weeks behind, but here is Roman's two year update! As you can see by the growth chart picture, he is growing like crazy!  Four inches in six months!  I will be interested to see his percentages at his two year check up! Current Nickbames- Bubba, Bubby, Romey, Sugar Booger Favorite Foods- He will eat darn near anything you put in front of him, and I have tested the limits quite a bit!  Whole grain pita with hummus and sautéed veggies?  "Pizza!"  He will eat an entire one himself!  Asparagus? Yup.  Shrimp?  Yup.  Couscous?  Yup yup!  The one thing he always always spits back out?  Ice cream.  Too cold! Play:  He got a "truckload" of toys between Christmas and Birthday!  His favorite?  Probably Legos and anything with wheels!  He is not nearly as active as his sister.  You are more likely to find him reading a book that jumping off furniture.   Friends:  His most favorite pe...

Party Under Construction

Image
This little guy is the big T-W-O!  We celebrated this "Big Truck" obsessed kid's special day with a construction themed birthday party!  Can I just say that this was THE EASIEST birthday cake I have ever made?!?  And delicious if I do say so myself!  The parting gifts, rock shaped crayons. Hats and Vests for all! The kids played with the road map rug (Romans bday gift from Caleb and I) and made foam sticker crafts. Then it was time for Pizza!  I think this kid ate an entire one all by himself! We sang happy birthday and blew out the candles (with a little help from some enthusiastic guests!) And then it was time to attack that mountain of presents!  Good gracious, where am I going to put all these toys??? Poor kid was worn out after all the excitement!  He got some special snuggles from NeeNee. Some very special friends helped us celebrate Roman's day, and we are grateful for all of them! ...

NYE 2013

Image
We rang in the new year with some of our favorite people- the Chambers and the Heneighs!   The kids ran rampant and the count down was at 11 but we all had a great time. Excited so see what the new year brings!
