My Birthday... Part Two (Denver Edition)

Image
So, for my 35th birthday extravaganza I got to fly out to Denver and meet up with my high school besties, Tiffany and Stacey.  We stayed at the fabulous Hotel Monoco (above). We had a great time catching up, stuffing our faces, and shopping. We also had a luxurious spa morning at the famous Brown Palace Hotel Spa.  Manis, pedis, and memosas! We explored local landmarks (making sure to eat at all the restaurants along the way!  Lol) We went to a piano bar, and the music was so fun and the vibe was so happy that we ended up staying out way past our bedtime!   We left no topic undiscussed, and no ice cream uneaten! Love these girls!  I couldn't ask for a better birthday weekend!

My Birthday- Part One

Image
I shared my birthday with Loralie's last day of school this year, so I had cupcake fixings for the girls to decorate with.  Loralie is super into Cupcake Wars right now, so she was all about it. These were the summery results!  We took them over to NeeNee's house that night for my special family birthday dinner. Then, the next night, Caleb took me out for a fun date night.  We went to a fancy wine bar and then met up with Matt and Becca for a yummy dinner at my favorite Brazillian restaurant.  And that was just the beginning of Birthday Week!  Lol...

Schoooool's OUT FOR The Sum-mah!

Loralie had her last day of Kindergarten on Wednesday!  She loved her teacher this year and she has learned so much! She got an academic achievement award, which only three students received.   So proud! Roman had his last day of PDO today! While he was at school, Loralie talked me into buying her a pet fish.  She has wanted one for a long time.  She was so excited!  She whispered to the fish "Don't worry.  You won't die!"  Uh oh. So basically, we are ready to party around here.  Schoooool's OUT FOR EVA!

So Random

The school year is wrapping up and summer is in the air!  I ate lunch with my kindergartner one last time. Averie and Reece were such good friends to Loralie this year. Sunday night Caleb fired up the grill and we had the neighbors over for a little summer kick off BBQ. Romey, with his gaggle of girls.  They are always making him wear fairy wings and stuff.  Poor guy! I took Roman on an adventure on Monday.  We went for a hike with Heather and Micah! Roman ride his tricycle all the way to Loralie's school yesterday!  That's like two miles round trip! I love me some cuddles with my little man!  He makes us laugh so much.  His latest quotable funny... "Daddy, you should give yourself a high five...in your face."  Haha.

Roman's Spring

Image
I've been trying to take advantage of the sunshine and the last few days that Roman and I have mornings alone together. Today we made volcanos (baking soda + colored vinegar).  Super fun.  I told roman not to eat both ingredients.  Guess who just had to learn for himself? It was a little breezy and Roman decided he wanted to go inside for a jacket.  He retuned wearing this get-up. But who could resist this face?  The kid says "I love you, Mama!" Like ten times a day.  It's probably the only reason he hasn't been put up for adoption yet.  I just keep telling myself he's "goal oriented" and "driven"!

Mother's Day

I got to spend a lovely day with my two biggest blessings today.  So honored to be their mom.

Weekly Randomness

The garden went in this week with the help of some junior farmers. Wednesday was "ride your bike to school day," which took a nasty turn when it started pouring on the way home.  I followed the bikes in the dry car. Last night the kids wanted to cook dinner. Roman made toast all by himself and only ate one tablespoon of butter. Loralie made a perfect batch of scrambled eggs all by herself!  Pretty impressive!
