Preschool!

Image
This week Loralie and mommy started a homeschool preschool curriculum. So far so good! She likes to "play school" with mommy. We have a special classroom set up in the basement. We are working on recognizing her name, letter recognition, number recognition, counting, shapes, and more! The part I really like about it is that there are several bible lessons per week and a bible memory verse to work on. Which means I will be memorizing 52 scriptures this year, even if she doesn't! Ha! I am loving spending this uninterrupted time with her, and I am hoping we will be able to continue it after Roman gets here, even if we have to split it up throughout the day!

Heathers Bay-Bee Shower

Image
You know I love to plan parties, and I love a good theme! My best friend Heather is expecting her first baby boy one month before Roman gets here! It is so fun to be able to go though our pregnancies together. I had the honor of throwing Heather a bumblebee themed baby shower today! Here are some pics!

Dentist

Me and Loralie went to the Dentist today. She had been once before when she was only one, but, let's face it, they barely looked in her mouth that time! I was overdue for a cleaning, as my last one was supposed to be in May, and I was having a hard time with dry heaving at that time! Loralie and I had our cleanings at the same time. She sat in her chair, let them count AND clean her teeth, and walked out of there so loaded down with prizes she looked like she had been to a carnival instead of the dentist! I am a little afraid she is going to want to go to the dentist on a weekly basis! Ha!

Dance Class

Image
Today was Loralies first day at dance class! She looked adorable in her little ballet outfit. I got to stay and watch as it was her very first class. I laughed so hard! I don't really notice how "active" she is until she is in a room full of three year old girls! She was only doing what she was supposed to be doing about 25% of the time! But I think me being there was a bit of a distraction, and her teacher, Miss Roe assures me that she can whip her into shape! Her goals- listening and following directions! She did participate in class, rather than just sitting on my lap, so that was good! But some of her funnier moments were sticking her whole arm through her skirt to pick her nose, telling the teacher if you stick your fingers in your throat you will throw up, and yelling she had to go potty RIGHT NOW!!!! Well, at least she will make the recitals more entertaining!

23 Weeks and Library Storytime

Image
Today was quite the eventful day for our family. First I had another sonogram for Roman, as they were not able to get all the pictures and measurements last time that they needed. Everything looked great, he is still a boy, and they were happy with all the shots that they got, so that is a relief! Here's his little profile again: And here are his little boy parts: Sorry, buddy, but momma is so proud! Loralie had her first day of Toddler Storytime today! She was so excited to go back! Everytime we went to the library this summer she was like "Mommy, where are all the kids? When do we get to sing songs and do a project?" She was a little shy today, but she talked about everything non-stop in the car on the way home. Not sure why she looks so confused here! The final work of art!

Let the Fall Fun BEGIN!

Image
Nothing kicks off the fall festivities better than an afternoon at the Renessance Festival! If you've never been to one before, it's something you really must experience. The people watching alone is worth the price of admission, as these fairs attract an entirely unique subsect of the population... Ha! You can enjoy jousting, sword fighting, magicians and jugglers, all while feasting on a giant roasted turkey leg! Don't worry, Caleb burned that off later. He entered (sort of against his will) the Highlander Games, in which men competed in ancient Scottish competitions of manliness (some of them while wearing kilts). He and our friend David both tried their arms at rock hurling (most of these games involve rocks or logs...) to thunderous applause! Overall, a super fun day with friends! When we got home our family unit increased by one... No, no walt labor for me! My neice Ada came over for a sleepover as her parents were celebrating their ten year anniversary. We ate ...

Silly

Loralie has yet another ear infection, so she was feeling kinda crummy today, but she still managed to keep me laughing! I told her she had to wear her shoes in the grocery store, and she relied, "mommy, you leave me no choice!". So dramatic! And when I was tucking her in to bed for her nap today, I was explaining to her that I would probably have to come wake her up when it was time for her doctors appointment. She said "okay mommy, but don't scream because grown ups don't scream." I said "yes, of course" and turned to leave. She piped up as I was shutting the door "unless you see a bear!" - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
