SeaLife with Cousins

Image
We had a bittersweet celebration today as we got to go to SeaLife with our cousins before they head home to PNG. Loralie was so sad to say goodbye to her sweet cousins.  She has loved running around the farm with them this year.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Image
This girl is 36!  Caleb surprised me with a mystery date in Springfield.  We went to this really yummy Italian restaurant in an old carriage house.   The food was amazing! Then we went to see Little Shop of Horrors which was really fun! We spent the night at The Elfindale, which was an amazing old bed and breakfast.  A night away from the kids- what more could I want?!

Roman's Last Day of Preschool

Image
This little guy had his very last day of preschool today!  Well, not his VERY last day, he still has next year.  We are ready for a summer full of fun!

Roman Craft Day

Image
Roman's school had "craft day" today which meant mommy got to come help out.  They played sand, camping, Nurf guns And shaving cream, among other activities. Roman only bas two more days of school left.  Can't wait for summer!

Loralie Zoo Field Trip

Image
Today I got to go with Loralie's class to the zoo. She was way excited.  Especially about her lunchable. We had a really nice group of kids and the weather (which started out rainy) turned out to be perfect! The boy in the picture *might* be the famous Anthony which Loralie was *not* excited was in our group.   Love being able to spend time with this kid!  Can't believe she is almost a big second grader!

Roman's Karate

Image
Roman has learned the ways of the ninja... And also the Jedi...  And now he is ready to kick some serious bad-guy butt. His classes mantra: "I will respect my parents! I will obey my teachers! I will never abuse my karate!" With great power comes great responsibility, grasshopper.

Mother's Day 2016

Image
We got back from camping in time to go to church on Mother's Day- translation, the kids were up at the crack of dawn.  But it was a great service and then they took me out for lunch, and the best part was- we were all so pooped we took a three hour nap!  A rainy Sunday nap!  Then I got to have a fun date with my own mom.  We had dinner and a movie, just the two of us.  Great Mother's Day!

Kiwi the Campers Maiden Voyage

Image
Our newest campers name is Kiwi after the Australian bird on her exterior and her new green cushions.  This was our first camping trip with her, which always results in a long list of stuff we forgot, but we still had a great time. One of the major things we forgot was the bag of outdoor toys for the kids.  No worries, we made duct tape nature bracelets and rode bikes and went fishing. And of course roasted wieners. And had s'mores.  That's Roman's "I didn't take a nap and its past my bedtime" face. Snug as bugs in rugs. And some mommy daddy campfire time!

Wrapping Up The School Year

Image
May 4th was ride your bike to school day.  I kinda hate that day.  Have you ever tried to keep a group of five bikers all together when one of them brakes every five seconds???  At least the weather cooperated this year. And on Thursday I got to go to Muffins with Mom with my boy!

Hermann Momcation

Image
This weekend my bible study friends and I got to experience the beauty of Missouri wine country in Hermann.  We took the train, stayed in a cottage, and tasted lots of wines.  We are things like olive tapanade on crustini and goat cheese with prosciutto and got to talk and laugh without having to fetch things for little people.
