Spelling Tuesday

This girl started first grade on Tuesday!  If it was up to her, she would have liked to stay home with Mom and Roman, but alas, all summers must come to an end. She was a little nervous until we got to the classroom,   but then she settled right in.  No tears for her OR me this year!  Roman is very excited to start preschool, but he has to wait another two weeks. This girl is going to take first grade by storm!

Tonight was "Meet the Teacher Night" at Kellybrook.  Loralie was excited to visit her first grade classroom and to meet her new teacher, Mrs. Bolin.  First day of school is on Tuesday!

This girl had her first soccer practice today and it was totally awesome. I can already tell she is going to be the best player in the team, probably.  Can't wait to cheer for the Dragons!  Rar!

Last night I attended a sporting event... And I didn't even bring a book! The Royals played against the As and we totally won, probably because of all my good cheering. We were THIS CLOSE.  You could smell the  sweat.  Actually, that was probably me.

Summer is winding down and we have been crossing items off our "summer fun" list like crazy.  Driveway movie?  Check. Visit a museum?  Check.  This was at the shoal creek living history museum in a one room school house. Visit a fire station?  Check.  It's good to have connections.  My friend Jennie's husband hooked us up with a private tour. Fun Run?  Why not! And this afternoon Loralie and I went on a back to school shopping spree complete with a haircut and (gasp!) ear piercing!  She didn't cry, but Momma got a little misty because man-she-looks-grown-up!
