Girl Time

Image
It's that special time of year again, when husbands bundle up and leave their homes at four in the morning to go sit in the frigid woods and hope to shoot one of Gods beautiful creatures! Success!  Now he wants to hang it on the wall.  That is not happening.  Anyway, while Caleb and Roman were in Bolivar, Loralie and I had Girls Weekend! We painted our nails, tried on shoes and had lunch at "Old MacDonalds".  We babysat baby Micah, ate pizza and watched the croods! On Sunday we went to church and then went to see a movie with Ada and NeeNee! Then the princesses ate pasketti.

Brummett Thanksgiving

This kid was ready to eat a good thirty minutes before everyone arrived.  He just kept carrying his plate around asking for Numnums. NeeNee is here! Matt, Becca and Ada arrive. Time to dig in!  Loralie took this picture so that's why half my face got cut off! Kid's table.  They ate for approximately ten seconds and then declared themselves "done" and scampered off to play.  One dinner done, one to go!

The Battle of "Please"

Image
So anyone who has spent any amount of time around Roman always marvels at how many words he can say.  He will literally mimic anything that you say.  He is also as stubborn as a bull.  So lately we have been trying to get him to say "please" instead of just screaming at us.  Tonight at dinner he finished his first helping of mashed potatoes and declared "More Numnums!"  We said "say please".  He screamed.  This went on for some time with all of us pleading with him to say please, and Loralie demonstrating and him screaming, "More Numnums!  MINE!"  Caleb and I are looking at each other in exasperation and I say, "the kid can say 'helicopter'!  I know he can say please!"  To which roman piped up "Helicopter!"  When he finally said please (in sign language, not words) he enthusiastically ate his mashed   potatoes and said "Mmmmm!  This is good!". Mommy needs a glass of wine PLEASE.

L's 5th Birthday

Image
Yesterday we took this motley crew to The Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate Loralie's 5th Birthday! They were super excited about the water park! We had Pizza and cake...  And opened presents, of course!  Roman enjoyed the food part emensely, but gave a resounding "don wan it" to the pool.  He only stayed for a few minutes before being escorted home by NeeNee. Overall, a great birthday for our baby girl.  She is growing up so fast!

Hardy Har Har

Tonight at dinner Caleb and Roman started playing a hand slapping game.  Pretty much just like it sounds, trying to slap each others hands.  All of a sudden Roman turns away, puts his hand to his ear and proceeds to ignore Caleb and have a two minute phone conversation ("hewo?  Ok.  Ok.  I don't know. Ok Bye!"). Caleb says "Roman, no phones at the table."  Without skipping a beat, Roman totally points to Caleb's phone, which was indeed on the table, with an accusing look on his face!  We all burst out laughing!  This kid!  He is too smart for his own good!

Happy Halloween!

Image
These two kiddos tore it up trick or treating last night!  Loralie was a hula girl (wearing a sweater, cause the weather was not tropical), and Roman was a dinosaur.  He totally hated his costume and every time I would show it to him he would say "don wan it!"   I love how Halloween is the only holiday you are expected to talk to and hang out with your neighbors!  And we have GREAT neighbors!  We had our third annual driveway party! I made some mummy dogs, queso dip, and chilli.  We stuffed ourselves and then burnt off the calories by trick or treating down two whole streets!  In our defense, the Daddies had already taken the kids for quite a while and someone had to pee and it was cold and 8:30 and a school night!  Hope your Halloween was Boo-tiful too!
