Roller Skating

Image
I took my girl roller skating for the very first time tonight!   We did one lap in regular skates... And Loralie spent a lot of time on the floor.  She kept saying "I'm really bad at this!" But then we switched to "preschool skates" (they barely roll) and this handy contraption and I could hardly keep up with her!  She loved it!  She was so fast all I got was a blur of a picture :) Lots of giggles and a few tears but overall a fun night!

Lucy's Maiden Voyage

So rather sporadically this week I decided we would take the kids camping.  The weather was supposed to be nice and Caleb didn't have to work.  It just so happened that the couple that sold us the camper were going to Watkins Mill this weekend as well, so we decided to join up with them!  It's a good thing we did cause I now have a long list of stuff I need to stock the camper with!   The other couple has a daughter close to Loralies age so they had a blast running around, and going fishing with Daddies.    Roman was the wild card... We was kind of into everything, in constant mortal danger, and think he ate about a pound of gravel... But overall he had a great time! Loralie saw her friend riding her bike and declared that she knew how.  Caleb had to help her out... We roasted weenies, stayed up late, and enjoyed the crisp starry night! Roman went to bed at his usual bedtime, and to my surprise, went right to sleep.  However, when it was time for ...

Grandma and Ariel

Image
My Grandma and cousin Kinsey arrived for a visit last week!  It was great to see them, as we hadn't since 2010.  We showed them the many sights of Kansas City (haha) and they got to spend time with the great-grands! On Tuesday night, me, Kinsey and Loralie went to see The Little Mermaid at Starlight! The weather was perfect, the show was great, an the best part was watching Loralie, because she really got into it!   I am missing my Grandma already and thinking about planning a trip to visit her next year!

Knock Knock

Image
Yesterday morning we were enjoying our waffles with Nutella, when Roman pipes up from his little corner: "Knock, knock!  Who dare?  Wor-wie (Loralie)" I said "Loralie who?" And he said "Loralie Bum (Phone)!" And cracked up at himself!  Of course me and Loralie cracked up too because he found himself so funny!  I think we might have quite the little comedian on our hands!

Camper, Sweet Camper

Image
So after an uncomfortable stay in bunk beds on our last float trip, we had an opportunity to buy our very own pop up camper.  Caleb didn't think I would go for it...he didn't remember that I have always, always wanted an airstream camper from the 50's, and I figured this is close enough for now!  We bought this baby for $200, from a friend.  It is an 80s model, but when it wasn't in use it always lived in a garage, so it was in really good condition... Just needed a style adjustment.  That's where I come in... Camper Before... And a week later... Isn't it Tres Adorbs!!!  This is what you call "Glamping", glamorous camping!  Caleb also added the oh-so-important feature of an air conditioner, and fixed the faucet so we would have real running water!  We still need to paint the exterior, and I have some red comforters ordered for the beds.  I love, love, love it!!!!

Kids Bowl Free

Image
We took Loralie bowling for the very first time today!  She said she loves it and she wants to come back every day.  That will probably not happen due to the fact that while "kids bowl free" all summer, parents have to pay.  And the shoes aren't included.  Such a deal.  But we had fun anyways, and neighbors Kaylee, Elliette, and Carrie came with us.  So check that summer adventure off the list!  You may have noticed a lack of Fourth of July posts- that is mainly due to lack of Fourth of July pictures... Mommy was slacking!  But we did have a great fourth (and fifth!) hanging out with friends and enjoying the Crazy Town that is our neighborhood!   ( L and the neighbors enjoying some "firecracks") *only picture I took *lame Darla, Carrie, and Me- Hottest Chicks in the neighborhood.  *stole this picture off Facebook

Happy Half Birthday to Roman!

Image
This adorable baby is half way to his next birthday!  He keeps us on our toes, that's for sure!  He is funny, sweet, demanding, affectionate, determined, smart, love able, obstinate and easily frustrated!  So basically a mini-me... He comes by it honest!  And what does our 18 month old enjoy?  Rough housing with daddy, hide and go seek (he gets so surprised he falls over!), and puzzle speed drills with Daddy!  He LOVES climbing in the dishwasher to help Mommy unload the dishes, carrying around remotes and dropping them in random places and of course, playing in the toilet whenever we are foolish enough to grant him access!  He talks constantly and I have actually stopped keeping track of how many words he can say because he is a little parrot.  My favorite phrases are: "good job, bubba!"  "Dat bum momans" (that phone is Romans) and "what's dat?!?"  His laugh is so adorable, and he gets going so hard that he gets us all laughing.  He...
