If All The Snowflakes were Hershey Bars and Milkshakes...

Image
...we would be in some serious trouble!  We got a blizzard sized amount of snow last week, and then another blizzard sized amount last night!  We are up to our eyebrows in it!  I don't mind too much because I don't really have to go anywhere anyways, and sometimes a snugly day at home isn't too bad at all!  Here's what we have been up to in this last week:  Loralie built a snowman with neighbors Kaylee and Elliette.  Roman has been practicing his stairs.  He fell down a few on his head.  Yesterday he got all the way to the top all by himself while Caleb was supposed to be watching him...  And he has been doing this a lot!  The kiddos were watching the snow come down together.  Apparently this house is "pants optional".  Loralie feeding her brother a bottle and watching the snow come down.  Here is our backyard after round one of snowstorm.  Now multiply that and you can see why we are...

Woofs

Image
This story has to be prefaced with the fact that Loralie is terrified of Big Bad Woofs... Last night, around ten PM me and Caleb were talking in bed when we hear Loralie yell from her room "Daddy! What was that sound???" Since this was not the first thing she had yelled from her bed that evening he replied "Go to sleep or I am gonna woop your butt!" She got very quiet and Caleb got a glare from me for the butt whooping reference. The next day we were driving in the car and Loralie says "Mommy, I heard a scary noise last night. Daddy said it was the woof in my butt..." Poor girl was traumatized!!!

Policeman's Ball

Image
Saturday night we enjoyed our first ever evening at the Policeman's Ball! It was at a fancy hotel downtown. Cher and Michelle came and partied with our kids so that we could party it up with Caleb's brothers in blue. And my brother Matt who is also in blue. We got all dressed up, ate, drank, and danced. It was super fun!

Playdate with Charlie

Image
This is Loralie's most bestest friend at Preschool, Charlie.  Today Charlie got to come over to our house after school for a playdate.  The girls were SO EXCITED.  They ate about two bites of their lunch, and then scampered off to try on all of Loralie's dress up clothes (and a few pairs of her pajamas).

Chicken and Noodles

So, I am not a food blogger.  I love to read foodie blogs.  I love to drool over the pretty pictures and pin them on Pinterest.  But as you know, my blog mostly focuses on my family.  However, today I am going to share with you a family recipe.  This Chicken and Noodles recipe has been passed down for generations.  I remember eating them at all of our family holiday dinners over the years.  My Dad used to come over to my house and help me make them.  I have never really mastered his technique, but I will attempt to share it with you.  Get ready for comfort food at it's best! Here's what you will need: For a pretty huge size batch of these babies you will use 4 eggs 4 t. salt 4 T water 1 whole chicken And enough flour to make "dough".  How do you like that for specifics?  I actually doubled the recipe today, as I was bringing some dinner to a friend as well as feeding our family, so I used about half a bag of flour. Start...
